Happy Holidays from TCP to you and yours! 2021 was a unique, challenging and exciting year for all of us and we are so grateful to you for keeping the mission here at TCP alive during these times.
End of Year Highlights
This year marked the launch of TCP’s latest initiative, The Future of Cultural Diplomacy in unique partnership with The Future of Diplomacy Project of the Belfer Center at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. The inaugural events of this partnership involved 3 seminar discussion series and 4 study group sessions.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS AWARD + EL SISTEMA USA PARTNERSHIP
We are honored to have received a “Grant for Arts Project” award from the National Endowment for the Arts for a project in collaboration with El Sistema USA® (ESUSA)! This project will commission composers from our initiative, Hear Her Song, to arrange their songs for El Sistema USA® affiliate youth ensembles. This collaboration will not only provide youth ensembles with new music from the Hear Her Song canon, but also provide professional opportunities for our composers, and expose youth to music of modern female composers that highlights stories of women leadership. Furthermore, these composers represent divergent musical styles and identity backgrounds, inviting a dialogue that fosters mutual respect for the diverse beliefs and values of all persons and groups.
HEAR HER SONG CONTINUES: 2022
As songs from the previous rounds of Hear Her Song move forward with the collaboration between the NEA and El Sistema USA®, we are also excited to press forward with a new round of composers, honorees and songs in partnership with our partners Vital Voices! Be sure to stay tuned in 2022 for these new songs by our incredibly talented artists and outstanding leaders!
This year also marked the four year anniversary of the historic Women’s March of 2017, the inspiration of our project Hear Her Song, and in commemoration, the release of the inaugural Hear Her Song album. Released on March 26, 2021 this album was produced in collaboration with engineer Christopher Botta (OneBeat, Emily Wells), the album features songs by Katy Pfaffl, Hyeyoung Kim, Helen Park, Janet Noh, Dina Fanai, Eliza Hull, Faye Chiao, Rosabella Gregory, Maria Landi, Sophia Lanuza, and Gwyneth Herbert. We have so many artists and partners to thank for making this project come to life, and we are thrilled to be able to shine a light on these women and their stories.
