The ZhiYin Dialogue

知音对话

The Zhi Yin Dialogue (知音对话) brings together cultural leaders from China and the United States to explore new possibilities for cultural exchange. It serves as a platform for dialogue aimed at fostering mutual understanding, artistic innovation and collaboration, and institutional cooperation between the two nations.

Guided by the principle of 和合共生 (Harmony and Coexistence), the Zhi Yin Dialogue embodies a shared belief that culture can unite people. It affirms that understanding begins with listening — to one another’s stories, art forms, and values.

On October 20, 2025, the inaugural Zhi Yin Dialogue was successfully held at the Shanghai Qiantan 31 Performing Arts Center. The Dialogue, themed "Zhi Yin Dialogue: Building Harmony," invited representatives from The Canales Project, International Society for the Performing Arts, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Asia Society, the University of North Carolina Center for the Performing Arts, and the Barbash Arts Foundation.

Representatives from over 20 mainstream Chinese and American institutions in the fields of culture, arts, and museums, including the National Museum of China, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, National Ballet of China, the Central Conservatory of Music, the Shanghai Museum, and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, engaged in in-depth discussions and exploration of new possibilities for cooperation in artistic fields between the two countries.

The 2025 China-U.S. ZhiYin Dialogue was co-hosted by the China International Culture Association and The Canales Project, organized by CTG Travel, and supported by The Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival and the Bank of China.
