Anna Dagmar is a NYC-based pianist, vocalist, singer-songwriter, musical theatre composer and teacher.

She is a two-time Gold Prize winner in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest and has released four full length albums. She is currently one of the Pianist/Conductors directing Waitress on Broadway, which features the music of Sara Bareilles. Dagmar tours internationally, and has performed her own concerts in cities including New York, Boston, Chicago, LA, Toronto, Stockholm, Berlin and London.

Her albums spin on over 100 folk stations nationwide, and her CD Satellite (2012) charted #5 on the Roots Music Report. Songs including “We Were Children” and “Down the Road” led Dagmar to be selected as a national finalist in both the Kerrville and Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Competitions and as a Folk Alliance Showcase Artist. A versatile pianist and side-person, Dagmar has performed with artists including Jane Siberry, David Amram, Ellis Paul and Natalia Zukerman.

A composer in the Tony-winning BMI Advanced Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, Dagmar’s songs and compositions have been showcased by Cutting Edge Composers, Broadway World, Broadway Charity Concerts, Circle Songbook, NY Theatre Barn, Directory of Contemporary Musical Theatre Writers, UC Irvine and the chamber music collective Double Entendre. Through the BMI program, Dagmar met her collaborator, lyricist Kevin Wanzor. As a writing team, their songs have also been performed by artists including Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening), Taylor Richardson (Annie) and Britney Coleman (Very Potter). Wanzor and Dagmar are currently writing two original, full-length musicals titled Kids These Days and My Imaginary Family.

She received her training in Jazz Performance and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music.
