Aixa Burgos is a multi-faceted freelance percussionist, music educator, and professor. A dynamic force in any situation, Aixa has a distinguished ability to use rhythm in a lyrical way. Creating subtle differences in shades of expression and meaning in the music she performs results in a unique experience for her listeners. Aixa specializes in Latin American music and percussion techniques and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Boston University. Her recent work includes a role in the upcoming Warner Bros. film In the Heights.
