Erin Ortman

Erin Ortman is a theatre director based in New York City. Concert work includes Ari Afsar’s JR Unplugged, Georgia Stitt’s Snow Child in Concert, a three-part concert series with multi Tony Award-nominee Kate Baldwin, Broadway Bares Soul with guests Vanessa Williams, Kelli O’Hara and Raul Esparza and Ragtime: an NYU Tribute at Radio City Music Hall. For the stage, she has most recently directed Time Out critics pic One Thousand Nights and One Day by Jason Grote and Marisa Michelson, as well as the critically acclaimed Real, by Rodrigo Noguiera. She is directing Jeannette, a musical by Ari Afsar and Lauren Gunderson, based on the life of Jeannette Rankin, the first woman to serve in the United States congress. Additional partners and projects include collaborations with Tony Award-winning producer Adam Zotavich, Life Time Obie Award-winning playwright Caridad Svich, Extraordinary Achievement Visa recipient Rodrigo Noguiera, and Ugandan playwright Jedidiah Mugarura currently in residence at Uganda House, United Nations. She teaches directing at NTI at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center and New York University.
